Former model Mel Platzke is a graduate of the Art Institute
of Pittsburgh with a degree in Residential Planning and Design, and also
studied performing arts and theatre production at Wright State University. His work with designers and photographers has
had international reach – Europe, South America, Mexico, and the United
States. Eventually landing in New York
City and Miami, he began to design coffee tables and mirror frames for
residential use, and these early designs have evolved into the modern, sleek
and sophisticated artwork he creates today.
Originally from Martin, Ohio, Platzke is six-foot-one, with
brown hair and hazel eyes, and whether he’s in a pea jacket or a vest and coat,
he exudes a fresh-faced look, even with beard scruff or just a little fur on
his chest. He’s done pictorials for Tom
James, Joseph Abboud, Chesterfield Eyewear and Auberge, just to name a few.
Odds are you’ve sighed upon seeing one of his numerous swimwear/underwear photo
spreads. I know I have, which explains his inclusion as an Underwear Profile. Sigh on.
